Under his direction the firm has become one of Bangladesh’s well-known interior design practices, completing 500+ projects for a diverse range of clients.

His role at DIPTI is noted as contributing “to the growth and advancement of the industry” by educating the next generation of Bangladeshi interior designers.

Professional Services: Over the years Haque’s practice has spanned residential, commercial, hospitality and institutional sectors. He personally oversees projects of varying scales, from custom homes and offices to major institutional offices and showrooms.

Affiliations and Leadership

Haque has played an active role in Bangladesh’s design community. He is a Founding Member and Director of the Interior Designers Association of Bangladesh (IDAB), and holds the professional title “IDr.” (Interior Designer) in affiliation with the national body. In IDAB he has taken leadership roles to foster networking, standards and education among Bangladeshi interior designers. Through IDAB, he promotes best practices, organizes events and awards (such as the IDAB Excellence in Interior Design Award) and represents Bangladeshi designers internationally. His commitment to professional development is reflected in the creation of forums and competitions aimed at elevating the field in Bangladesh.

Design Philosophy

Haque’s design philosophy emphasizes a balance of form and function. He believes in “harmonizing functionality with aesthetics” – creating spaces that are both innovative and practical. His approach centers on understanding each client’s needs and lifestyle, then crafting interiors that resonate emotionally while meeting utility requirements. According to his firm’s profile, Haque is known for a “keen eye for detail” and a commitment to excellence that “resonates throughout his work.” He often highlights sustainability, safety and client well-being in his designs, focusing on durable materials and modern, secure infrastructure. Overall, Haque’s work reflects a contemporary Bangladesh style that blends international trends with local culture and user comfort.

Notable Projects and Contributions

Over his career Haque has led projects for many high-profile clients:

Government and Public Sector: He has designed offices and interiors for government ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Women & Children Affairs, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and the Forest Department of Bangladesh. These projects often involve renovating or furnishing large office complexes with functional workspace layouts. He has also overseen interior design for diplomatic missions in Dhaka, notably the Embassy of Denmark and the Maldives High Commission.

Corporate and Commercial: His portfolio includes corporate headquarters, showrooms and retail outlets for both local and international companies. Clients have included Honda, Xiaomi, Bkash, Orion Group, Finlay Tea, Clarks, AK Khan, Meghna Group, Pathao and others. He has designed modern office fit-outs, conference rooms and showrooms that reflect each brand’s identity. For example, showroom interiors for international electronics brands (Asus, Cyclelife, etc.) and customized office furniture for banks and tech firms.

Hospitality and Private Sector: Haque’s firm has also executed interiors for hotels, restaurants and luxury residences. While specific project names are proprietary, his team publicizes interior designs for restaurants (including a Spain-themed restaurant in Bangladesh) and customized furniture projects (e.g. for Global Brand Plc in Gulshan, Dhaka).

Through these projects, Haque has significantly contributed to raising the standard of interior environments in Bangladesh. His work on public institutions has been particularly impactful, as it often introduces modern design principles into government offices, improving functionality and employee comfort. The breadth of his clientele – from multinationals to SMEs – demonstrates his versatility and influence on Bangladesh’s evolving interior design scene.

Teaching and Mentoring

As an educator, Haque has a strong presence in design academia. At DIPTI, a vocational training institute, he delivers courses in interior design theory, software and practical studio work. Colleagues note that his “dedication to nurturing aspiring interior designers contributes to the growth and advancement of the industry.” He has supervised student projects and juried design competitions, bridging academic learning with professional practice. His dual role as practitioner and teacher allows him to bring real-world case studies into the classroom, inspiring students with insights from his extensive project experience. Many of his former students have gone on to become practicing designers in Bangladesh, carrying forward Haque’s emphasis on quality and innovation.

Recognition and Public Engagement

Haque’s contributions have been recognized within the design community. Interior-Concepts & Design Limited, under his leadership, is frequently cited among Bangladesh’s leading design firms. His company’s profiles highlight awards and affiliations (e.g. IDAB membership) as markers of its reputation. Although specific external awards for Haque personally are not widely publicized, his role in launching and judging design competitions (like the IDAB Excellence awards) has raised his profile.

He is also active in public outreach: he produces educational videos on interior design safety and trends under his firm’s banner. These engagements demonstrate his role as an ambassador for the profession. In social media and at conferences, he often speaks about topics like secure and sustainable design, further advancing professional dialogue in Bangladesh.

Overall, Idr. Md. Anamul Haque is regarded as a dynamic leader in Bangladesh’s interior design field. His blend of practitioner success, academic involvement and organizational leadership has helped shape the industry’s growth. Through his firm’s high-profile projects and his own advocacy (especially within IDAB), he continues to influence the standards, education and public perception of interior design in Bangladesh.
